Travelling by road

St Andrews is located on the north-eastern tip of Fife, close to the city of Dundee in Tayside. The main routes to St Andrews are:

From Edinburgh:
Take the A90 over the Forth Road Bridge (toll bridge) which connects to the M90. Continue north until junction 7 and take the A91 following the signs to St Andrews. Journey time is approximately one hour.

From Glasgow:
Take the M8 from the city centre and exit at Junction 14 to join the M80 then A80 signposted for Stirling. At Junction 5 on the A80, exit to join the M876 signposted Kincardine Bridge. Once over the bridge, take the A977 to Kinross then join the M90 heading north. Exit at junction 8 and join the A91 signposted for St Andrews. Journey time is approximately one and a half hours.

From Aberdeen:
Travel south from the city via the A90 as far down as Dundee, then cross the Tay Bridge, driving briefly along the A92. Then take the turn off onto the A914, continuing south onto the A919. After passing through Leuchers, join the A91 at Guardbridge and head east into St Andrews. Journey time takes just under approximately two hours.
