St Andrews is the perfect base for exploring the Kingdom of Fife and the rest of Scotland. For golfers, 60 courses are within an hour’s drive while everyone can enjoy the beauty of the Kingdom of Fife – some of the country's best beaches, the picturesque fishing villages of the East Neuk, Scotland’s ancient capital of Dunfermline, a beautiful coastline with coastal footpath and gently rolling countryside, ideal for one of the UK's most comprehensive cycle networks covering 300 miles (500km).

If you want to explore further afield, Scotland has so much to offer it can be difficult to know where to start! St Andrews is near Dundee, one of Scotland’s largest cities and home to the RRS Discovery, the original exploring ship of Captain Scott of the Antarctic.

The dramatic city centre castles of Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital, and Stirling, where monarchs ruled for three centuries, are just over an hour away. Or head north and, within an hour, you can be in the Scottish Highlands, marvelling at the forests, lochs and mountain scenery.
